Megan Petersen
Megan Petersen serves as ITI’s Vice President of Policy, Public Sector and Counsel. She works closely with ITI member companies to develop and advocate for positions on policies, legislation, and regulations governing the acquisition, adoption, and implementation of innovative capabilities by federal civilian and defense agencies.
Megan brings years of federal government experience in IT acquisition and related issues and policies. Most recently, she served as Counsel to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). In this role, Megan advised the CIO on developing and implementing FBI programs for supply chain risk management, cloud adoption and migration, data management, cybersecurity, and acquiring innovative technologies.
Megan previously served as an FBI procurement attorney, where she advised contracting officers on all aspects of acquiring and managing IT services, hardware, and software. She also worked as an FBI contracting officer, awarding and administering large IT services contracts and enterprise license agreements.
Megan began her government career with the Commission on Wartime Contracting in Iraq and Afghanistan. She focused on legal and policy issues relating to contingency contracting practices across the Department of Defense, Department of State, and United States Agency for International Development.
Megan received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from University of California, Davis, and a Juris Doctor from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. She completed extensive volunteer legal work in Kampala, Uganda.
